The Truth is Difficult to Bear

I hate these sleepless nights
Oh the Spirits they conjure
Please take me from here

If tonight, I showed up at your door crying
Would you recognize me?

I hate this lying mask
Oh how it deceives them
Please take it away

If tonight, I showed up at your door crying
Would you recognize me?

Because I need a release
Somewhere to breathe
God, I feel pathetic
But I can't lie anymore

Blackened steel, red pills
Is this the definition
Of surivial? but...

If tonight, I showed up at your door crying
Would you recognize me?

Because I need a release
Somewhere to breathe
God, I feel pathetic
But I can't lie anymore

I need you here

Two A.M. and I'm gone
I'm losing hope yet again
Please take me from here

If tonight, I showed up at your door crying
Would you recognize me?

Because I need a release
Somewhere to breathe
God, I feel pathetic
But I can't lie anymore

I need you here

No dear, I won't lie; I can't lie
I need you here...

Midnight Messiah

Darkness, silence
Fill the room
A single light,
The shadow of our midnight messiah
Humid anticipation hangs
Eyes closed, his lips part
Our salvation begins

Breathe! In the melodies of life we find release.
Sing! Out the truths of our condition are evident.
No! We're far from alright, but still we strive.

Tonight, our night
In this room
A united purpose,
Described, displayed on stage
Shared rapture flows through our soul
Lifted eyes, hands to the sky
Our liberation arrives

Breathe! In the melodies of life we find release.
Sing! Out the truths of our condition are evident.
No! We're far from alright, but still we strive.

Don't stop, don't you dare!
This is our moment, this is our time.
Let them go, leave your demons at the door

Breathe in this life
Sing out your heart
Find peace tonight, just

Breathe! In the melodies of life we find release.
Sing! Out the truths of our condition are evident.
No! We're far from alright, but still we strive.

Breathe!
Sing!
No!

My Mom Always Told Me Patience was a Virture

You found me crying
As blood mixed with tears
I needed a change of pace
Something to lift my eyes
I had given up, but now...

I found a place here.
Patience, my savior, thank you God.
This deliverance has solidified my wavering hope.
(Y)ou've saved me.

Despite the consistency, I'm continually surprised.
Despite what tomorrow may bring,
I'll accept it all in stride.
I'm getting up, moving up, and heading out.
Yes dear, I'm moving on.

The morning is here
I never thought I'd escape
This nightmare is at an end
No, life isn't perfect, but
None of that matters because...

Again, I'm crying
Springing forth for freedom
Two hundred and forty seven days
And I've found life anew
Because you shattered my chains

I found a place here.
Patience, my savior, thank you God.
This deliverance has solidified my wavering hope.
(Y)ou've saved me.

Despite the consistency, I'm continually surprised.
Despite what tomorrow may bring,
I'll accept it all in stride.
I'm getting up, moving up, and heading out.
Yes dear, I'm moving on.

Thank you God, thank you dear friend
Eight months and I've found release
Just when I thought....

But I'm getting up, moving up, heading out
Standing up, turning north, and leaving this behind
Yes dear, I'm moving on.

Rebellion through Revolution

(Stay your ground!)

This is our Revolutionary War
We're fighting for separation
Bleeding to discover our identity
You call it rebellion
We call it liberty

Tear off the disguise
they've forced you to wear
(We're not okay, it's not okay!)
Those eyes, those scars declare
the truth of your demise

Stay your ground
No more Representation with Obligation
to hide our Situation, our Desperation

This is our Revolutionary War
We're fighting for separation
Bleeding to discover our identity
You call it rebellion
We call it liberty

Don't hide the truth
You're sick and lost, but striving
(We're not okay, it's not okay!)
This heart can't stand simply surviving
No longer timid youth

Stay your ground
No more Representation with Obligation
to hide our Situation, our Desperation

This is our Revolutionary War
We're fighting for separation
Bleeding to discover our identity
You call it rebellion
We call it liberty

I can hear them
Ready to condemn
Prepare yourself, steel your heart
the assault is soon to start

Stand your ground, stay
We're not okay
Stand your ground, stay
It's not okay

We'll not be defeated today
We'll struggle through the fray

This is our Revolutionary War
We're fighting for separation
Bleeding to discover our identity
You call it rebellion
We call it liberty

We'll not be defeated
We can't be defeated
This is for our identity

To the Hurting Soul: A Ramble

To the Hurting Soul

I know you feel down and your tears are flowing
Your heart’s turn to lead along with your head
The world’s turned over and everything’s backwards
Your path’s gone dark while the stars ran away
And all the while you're wishin'
Someone would turn on the sun

For in crash your walls
And ‘round stand the neighbors
All pointin’ and laughin’
And hootin’ and hollerin’
Thinkin’ its funny this pain you’re feelin’
All the while your heart withers
Your soul dies and hope runs away
To a point where you feel like fading,
Crawling in a hole and dying there
And it makes you wonder
Would anyone care?

Well I tell you my friend, I would care
Though I can’t speak for the 6 billion others out there
Let it be known one soul will be crying
So hold onto life while we still posses it
For hope’s always there
You just have to find it
Around the next bend
Or over the hill
I promise my friend, I promise it’s there
But until you find it
Just know that I care
